Spearing time out of our daily routine could be a little overwhelming.

And we get it.. there are only so many hours in a day, that seem to always get shorter and shorter while our ‘to-do’ lists just get longer and longer. And to add up, we have to find the time to look after ourselves. The workout, our make up, our hair removal!

Hair removal is by far one of the most time consuming personal care tasks we face, especially as it has to be done very frequently… even, daily! Our arm pits, legs, our Brazilian!! And for some of us, we even have to do our arms, face, I mean, the list goes on and on!!! The issue is that we are so busy treating the problem that we skip the real solution.

What’s the solution? Targeting the root of the problem, literally the root!

If only we could get hair to grow less and less every time we shaved, plucked or waxed…WAX, just thinking about it hurts my very core!

The magic solution doesn’t lie in actual magic, but in science.

What we need is to focus our efforts straight to the root of the problem, which in this case is called hair follicle. A hair follicle is part of the skin that grows hair by packing old cells together.

Kind of also the reason why people, men in particular, lose their hair as the get older, it’s all about hair follicles. And there are two ways of directly affecting hair follicles to stop them from growing hair, and they are LASER or IPL (intense pulsed light).

The key difference between laser and IPL is the type of light. IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is a broadband pulsed light source, whereas laser is a monochromatic coherent light source. Both methods reach the root of the hair via the melanin. This stimulation has a ‘damaging’ effect on the root and after a few treatment sessions, will inhibit the root to produce new hair. Dark hair and fair skin are the perfect combination to get the most effective results.

Nowadays you’ll find a wide range of devices and salon services for light-based hair removal. All methods will leave your skin smooth and hair-free, yet how do you decide between laser and IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) hair removal methods? Is it necessary to always go to a salon or can doing it yourself at home being just as effective?

The answer is simple: Doing it yourself at home will save time, and a lot, and i mean A LOT of money. Yet you’ll have to do it more regularly to begin with. Having hair removal treatment in a salon requires the know-how from a professional and can lead to faster results. In either case, results will be similar – a considerable reduction in body hair!

THE GOOD NEWS HERE is that both procedures are completely safe! according to the Skin Care Foundation, the procedure is sometimes used to treat certain forms of precancerous lesions. ... So, they don't pose a risk of the skin and can be safely used on the mons pubis and bikini line areas.
